How Biofilm Keeps You Sick

If you are struggling with symptoms and health issues and never seeing any progress, biofilm might be at the root cause. If you are struggling with symptoms and health issues and never seeing any progress, biofilm might be at that root cause. Especially if you are struggling with what seems like a mystery illness, all your blood work looks great, testing is clear, but you are fatigued, have brain fog, digestive issues, and chronic headaches.

Biofilm is a protective layer that viruses and bacteria create to protect themselves from the immune system as well as drugs and therapeutic agents. They can create a nice ecosystem within the body that allows them to hide, proliferate and propagate, continue the spread from cell to cell, and keep you sick and tired.

Biofilm is typically found in the gut but can also be found in the lungs. I always think of biofilm as an M&M shell that allows in viruses, bacteria, mold, yeast, and fungus but blocks the immune system. Then they are all protected from being seen and eliminated from the immune system. Biofilm can grow larger and take over more area as the bugs continue to grow unimpeded.

Biofilms can also bind to heavy metals, minerals, and toxins that stay in your body and cells causing damage. This not only essentially steals your nutrition from your body but also gives cancer cells, parasites, and toxins a place to hide. Biofilms release significant amounts of inflammatory proteins that drives further immune suppression and symptomology that can’t be named or treated effectively.

If you are someone like me and have autoimmune diseases, you are on immunosuppressants, you have chronic infections like strep, Epstein barr, long Covid, you might be struggling because of biofilm.

This is also why when you do any type of gut health work, detoxes, or just change anything you might feel like crap for a few days: headaches, diarrhea, joint pain, weakness, things like that. Then you start to feel better. And if you stay on the cleanse or detox, oh my goodness the next week you feel like crap again. You might think you did something wrong are you are causing damage, but you are actually cleaning up biofilm one layer at a time. When that biofilm bursts open and releases viruses, mold, yeast, bacteria and all that goodness your immune system goes on high alert and you have a mini-cold or flu like time.

If you don’t address the biofilm and gut you won’t ever recover. You will be like me (and don’t worry, I’m going to tell you how to address this in a few minutes) and have chronic infections. I am still testing positive for Epstein barr despite all the work that I did. BUT I didn’t know at that time to go after the biofilm first.

So, here is what I recommend:

My top biofilm busters are first herbal antibiotics and support like Candibactin AR and BR from metagenics. These have the nutrition and herbal support to break open the biofilm, reduce what is in that biofilm, and give your immune system the support it needs.

I also like to add in Modified Citrus Pectin and Monolaurin for viral and yeast support.

My personal preference, and some research has shown that it is best to PULSE these types of supplements. This means that you take the biofilm busters for 10 days and then do 10 days of probiotic and immune support. Then go back and redo the biofilm killers.

Because biofilm is created and then eliminated in layers, it is best to allow your gut to destroy the biofilm and its contents, heal and rebuild with probiotics, then go back in and keep reducing the biofilm. I also would recommend the Immune Support Pack from Designs for Health because it gives your body a good variety of immune nutrition to help speed up this process and mushrooms to further eliminate the biofilm. Another good add is glutathione to help with antioxidant action.

I would do these protocols for 3 rounds which would equal 60 days.

If you are having significant or severe side effects from this detox/cleanse then you will need to add in liver support like Dr. Shades Liver Sauce to help clear the detox pathways.

Another layer to this would be mold, so if you aren’t getting relief, you would need to add in a mold support.

You can add in walking for 20 minutes daily, as well as an infrared Sauna, increase your water intake, and Epsom salt baths.

I have included a link to the supplements so you can get them right away and get started with a discount. It is titled Long Haulers – SIBO safe so this protocol is safe for everyone to use.

And of course if you are looking for personalized care you can schedule your initial consultation with me online and we will create a plan for you to feel better fast!
